Waterproof cable gland is a kind of connector which is often used in power system. Mainly used in outdoor products, large and medium-sized remote control machinery, ontology in the outdoor control system is not ontology equipment. For example, in chemical plants, power plants, power supply bureaus, base stations of telecommunication networks, and factories with higher automation, waterproof cable glands are used.
Production and Application
1. Installation of normal process
After making the connecting pipe, it is winded with yellow silk ribbon. The overlap range is half of the bandwidth. The winding length should exceed 150-200 mm of the stripping incision. The number of layers depends on the voltage level. Then the outer layer is wound with J-20 self-adhesive tape, and the lapping range is half of the bandwidth. The length of the ribbon should exceed at least 100-150 mm and the number of layers should be no less than 6 layers.
After three-phase is completed. They are cut into circles, then wrapped into circles with self-adhesive tape according to the above method, and finally wrapped with plastic anti-wear tape. The overlap range is half of the bandwidth, and the overlap range is half of the bandwidth. The length should exceed at least 150 mm of self-adhesive tape and the number of layers should be no less than 3 layers.
2. Water-proof treatment steps of low-voltage cable intermediate joints:
1) After the terminal is crimped, the waterproof filling glue is wound around the terminal. Shrinkage tube.
2) If the environment is generally slightly humid, wrap the waterproof filling tape on both ends of the cable, and shrink the casing (both ends of the casing must be taped).
3) If the environment is bad, we must use self-adhesive waterproof tape to strengthen waterproofing (also can use heat-shrinkable waterproof tape, we usually use self-adhesive tape, heat-shrinkable tape is used to repair cable damage). The method is:
A. After filling the waterproof filling glue, wrap one layer of self-adhesive waterproof tape around the outer layer of the filling glue or elongate the multi-layer with self-adhesive waterproof tape, but the thickness should not be too thick, so as not to cause the insulation tube sleeve to not go in.
B. Shrinkage the heat-shrinkable tube sleeve at the glue.
C. Wrap the waterproof tape at both ends of the heat shrinkable tube, then wrap a layer of self-adhesive waterproof tape. Wrap the waterproof tape and self-adhesive tape at both ends of the cable insulation sheath, and then heat and shrink the casing.
3. Installation Notes
1) Choose the suitable connector material according to the type and specification of cable connector. Nowadays, the quality of cable connector material is uneven. But in order to ensure the quality of cable connector, it is suggested that we should not be greedy and cheap, and we should choose the material of cable connector manufacturer with reliable quality.
2) It is better not to choose rainy days when cable glands are used, because cable water inflow will seriously affect the service life of cable, and even lead to short-circuit accidents.
3) Before making waterproof cable glands, we must carefully read the manufacturer's product instructions, which is particularly important for 10 kV and above cables. Before doing this, we should think about all the procedures before doing it.
4) The terminal joints of single-core armored cables above 10kV shall be grounded with only one end of the steel strip.
5) Copper pipe can not be pressed too hard, as long as it is pressed into position, the copper end face after pressing will inevitably have many bumps, which must be smoothed with a file, and no burrs can be left.
6) When using the blowtorch, the heat shrinkable cable gland should pay attention to the movement of the blowtorch, not to the continuous blowtorch in only one direction.
7) Dimensions of cold shrinkable cable glands must be made in strict accordance with the drawings, especially when the support in the reserved tube is withdrawn, more care should be taken.
Application Notes
1) In order to ensure waterproofing and longer operation, it is recommended to use double-wall glued thermal shrinkable sleeve and insulating sleeve.
2) In order to ensure that the joint can withstand certain pressure, it is suggested to add a protective sleeve to strengthen insulation and protection.
3) The self-adhesive tape (or heat-shrinkable waterproof tape) used are all high-voltage products to ensure insulation safety.
4) During construction, staggered butt joint is preferred (that is, the cable does not need to be truncated neatly).
